Slime

How can I change the properties of slime?

Experiment- Making custard balls

You will need:

  • Custard powder or cornflour
  • Water
  • A bowl

Instructions:

  1. Add 4 heaped tablespoons of custard powder to a bowl
  2. Add a few tablespoons of water to make a thick paste
  3. Play around with it and manipulate the material (technical term a colloid)

Next steps:

Does this work with other materials like sugar, salt or regular flour? Can you roll it into a ball? Can you stand on it? What happens when you punch it? Can you investigate any other properties? Do you know any other materials like this?
