Woodside Primary Academy

We are delighted that you and your child are joining Woodside Primary Academy. We are part of the family of schools which form the REAch2 Primary Academy Trust.

We hope that the information on this page will answer many of the questions that you have about your child starting school with us. Further details  will be sent to you regarding your child's induction into school.

Our Curriculum

There are 7 areas of learning we use to support our planning:

         * Personal, social and emotional development

* Communication and language

* Physical development

* Literacy (Reading and Writing)

* Mathematics (Number/Shape, Space & Measures)

* Understanding the world

* Expressive arts and design

At Woodside, we encourage each child to explore and extend their learning through a play-based curriculum, shaped by our local context and the starting points of every child.

Children’s learning is supported through small group activities, both inside and in the outside learning zones.

Learning is also planned from what we observe the children doing while they are learning through play and what we know children should ‘typically’ learn at this age. We also plan around children’s interests, fascinations and termly topics.
