Nursery Illness & Medication Procedures

Senior nursery staff will administer prescribed medication. However, as you are aware, our procedures have slightly changed due to the launch of the Virtual Office.

If your child needs to take prescribed medication such as antibiotics, eye drops, creams, or medication for Asthma, here are the new procedures to follow.

Nursery Under 3's Procedure - Confident Grasshoppers, Kind Caterpillars & Independent Dragonflies

  • Complete the online medication form located in the Virtual Office under the Administering Medicine section before the child comes to nursery.
  • When you arrive you will need to go to the main Forest Site office and let the office team know, they will then print the form for you to sign.
  • Take the form and the medication to your child's class.

Nursery 3-4's Procedure - Responsible Ladybirds, Respectful Butterflies & Honest Bumblebees

  • Complete the online medication form located in the Virtual Office under the Administering Medicine section before the child comes to nursery.
  • Come to the nursery office and see John, who will locate and print off the form for you to sign.
  • Take the form with the medication to your child's class.

If your child has a high temperature, we will continue to call and seek permission to administer Calpol. We will complete a nursery medical form in this instance for you to sign when you collect.

PLEASE NOTE:- ALL MEDICATIONS MUST BE HANDED TO A MEMBER OF NURSERY STAFF TO BE STORED SAFELY IN THE LOCKED MEDICATION FRIDGE.  NO MEDICATIONS SHOULD BE LEFT IN CHILDREN'S BAGS OR RUCKSACKS.
